Last two Regional Schools Commissioners are women

The last two of eight Regional Schools Commissioners (RSC) were announced by Schools Commissioner Frank Green at the Education Select Committee yesterday morning (via Laura McInerney) - the full list of eight is below.

Their names have been posted on Frank Green's DfE web page.

Jenny Bexon-Smith (Executive Head of Tudor Grange Academy Trust) will be RSC for East Midlands and Humber. (Some of her views are in the most recent edition of My Academy magazine (Page 13): '...the powers of inertia are very strong, as is the power and influence of what can be generically described as ‘the State Education Establishment’...)

Janet Renou (Executive Head of Skipton Girls' High School) will be RSC for the North.

Questions were raised about the fact that the first six appointment were all men, it was mentioned in comments under the original New School Finance story and elsewhere in the press.
